  1. John Toft b ca 1579 Norwich d 1655 Norwich. Married Mary Wylkins / Wilkins and had 16 children. PCC Will dated 1655. This John leased land from the Corporation of Norfolk and the Black Horse Public House in Tombland, Norwich was one of 7 properties he sublet to others.

  2. Ann Toft b ca 1582 Norwich. Married Rev John Weld in 1603 at Caistor St Edmund, Norfolk. John Weld’s will of 1636 mentions brother in laws John and Thomas Toft, grocers of Norwich. Rev John Weld was vicar of Caistor St Edmund with Markshall in 1602. Seven children baptised at Caistor St Edmund.

  3. Thomas Toft b 1585 Norwich d 1672 Norwich. Grocer, Mayor and Sheriff of Norwich. Lived at the corner of Fye Bridge St and Fishergate Norwich.  He was an Independent and very extreme in his political views. Turned out of his aldermanship in 1662. A grocer by trade. Married Susan Chapman. 13 children. Buried in April 1672.

John Toft was a grocer, like his two sons John and Thomas.

John Toft died in June 1628 and was buried at St George Tombland, in Norwich. The burial register, written in latin, states –

Johannes Toft, senior, sepultus fuit quindecimo die mensis Junij.
