It seems the Wentworth, Jackson, Mead, White and Miles families were living near each other in the Fitzroy and Collingwood areas of Melbourne in the 1870\u20131890 time period.<\/p>\n
They were all attending the same church,\u00a0 St Marks in Fitzroy, living in the surrounding streets, and must have known each other quite well. Several families appear as witnesses on each others marriage certificates at St Marks. All of these families eventually left Melbourne to select land and live in the Boho, Warrenbayne, Baddaginnie, Violet Town area.<\/p>\n
Land began to become available in the Boho area from 1861 with the first land sales happening that year. The White’s were in the Violet Town area by 1860 as evidenced by Eden White’s daughter Ellen being born there that year. His brother Richard followed shortly after and his child Emma was born in Violet Town in 1866.\u00a0 Eden and Richard’s uncle William White was living in Boho by 1864 – his daughter Matilda married Rueben Croxford in Boho, near Violet Town that year.<\/p>\n
