(Robert Semins, son of James Semins and Jenefer).<\/p>\n<p>James and Jenefer had at least three children &#8211; Robert in 1797, George in 1809, and Jennifer in 1819.<\/p>\n<p>On 22 July 1819, 22 year old Robert married 21 year old <strong>Maria Bellman<\/strong> at the Camborne parish church.<\/p>\n<p>Maria was the daughter of Charles Bellman (born 1763 in Gwithian, Cornwall) and Jenefer Webster (born 1772 Camborne).<\/p>\n<p>Maria was baptised on 4 March 1798 at Camborne, and was one of seven children born to the couple.<\/p>\n<p>Robert and Maria had twelve children all of which that were baptised at Camborne &#8211;<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Maria born 1820<\/li>\n<li>George born 1822<\/li>\n<li>Robert born 1824<\/li>\n<li>Phillipa born 1827<\/li>\n<li>John born 1829<\/li>\n<li>Charles born 1830<\/li>\n<li>Betsey born 1831<\/li>\n<li>James born 1833<\/li>\n<li>George born 1835<\/li>\n<li>Jane born 1838<\/li>\n<li>Mary born 1844<\/li>\n<li>Emily born 1858<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><em>The last two children Mary and Emily were listed as &#8216;daughters&#8217; of Robert and Maria on the census, but could perhaps be (disguised) daughters of one of the other unmarried daughters. I cannot find either baptism.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>On the children&#8217;s baptism records (Cornwall Online Parish Clerk) and the census records\u00a0 Robert is stated as being a copper miner in the town of Camborne.<\/p>\n<p>He appears on the 1841, 1851 and 1861 census living in Camborne with his family.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>1841 Camborne Town &#8211; Robert, Maria, and unmarried children Phillipa, John, Elizabeth, James, George &amp; Jane.<\/li>\n<li>1851 Wesley St, Camborne &#8211; Robert, Maria and unmarried children John, Elizabeth, James, George, Jane and Mary<\/li>\n<li>1861 by the turnpike, Camborne &#8211; Robert, Maria and unmarried children Jane, Mary and Emily.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div id=\"attachment_4489\" style=\"width: 362px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-4489\" class=\" wp-image-4489\" src=\"http:\/\/www.michelledennis.com.au\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/07\/Robert-Simmons-accident-Cornish-Telegraph-13-June-1855-FMP-300x126.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"352\" height=\"148\" srcset=\"http:\/\/www.michelledennis.com.au\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/07\/Robert-Simmons-accident-Cornish-Telegraph-13-June-1855-FMP-300x126.jpg 300w, http:\/\/www.michelledennis.com.au\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/07\/Robert-Simmons-accident-Cornish-Telegraph-13-June-1855-FMP.jpg 659w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 352px) 100vw, 352px\" \/><p id=\"caption-attachment-4489\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Cornish Telegraph 13 June 1855<\/p><\/div>\n<p>In June 1855 Robert was involved in a serious accident at the copper mine which was reported in the local newspaper the Cornish Telegraph.<\/p>\n<p>Thankfully he recovered and was able to return to work.<\/p>\n<p>Robert died on 1 June 1865 at Camborne at the age of 68 years.
