John was one of 11 children born to the couple.<\/p>\n<p>He was most likely baptised at St Nicholas, Alcester as were his brothers and sisters which I&#8217;ve found in the Alcester baptism register.<\/p>\n<p>John married Ann Marshall at Hadzor, Warwickshire, 13 miles from Alcester.<\/p>\n<p>John and Ann had eight children baptised at St Nicholas, Alcester &#8211;<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>William b 1737 Alcester, d 1816 Alcester<\/li>\n<li>John b 1740 Alcester, d 1767 Feckenham, marr Hannah Dilworth<\/li>\n<li>Hannah b 1741 &amp; d 1741 Alcester<\/li>\n<li>Mary b 1742 Alcester, marr James Port in 1779<\/li>\n<li>Sarah b 1744 Alcester<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.michelledennis.com.au\/?page_id=6457\"><strong>Ann<\/strong><\/a> b 1745 &amp; d 1823 Alcester, marr William Whitford, 6 children<\/li>\n<li>Nanny b 1749 &amp; d 1750 Alcester<\/li>\n<li>Susannah b 1751 &amp; d 1751 Alcester<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.michelledennis.com.au\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/09\/Worcestershire-Sauce-pic.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-6534 alignright\" src=\"http:\/\/www.michelledennis.com.au\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/09\/Worcestershire-Sauce-pic.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"306\" height=\"278\" srcset=\"http:\/\/www.michelledennis.com.au\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/09\/Worcestershire-Sauce-pic.jpg 960w, http:\/\/www.michelledennis.com.au\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/09\/Worcestershire-Sauce-pic-300x272.jpg 300w, http:\/\/www.michelledennis.com.au\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/09\/Worcestershire-Sauce-pic-768x697.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 306px) 100vw, 306px\" \/><\/a>Child number 2 above John Dyson married Hannah Dilworth in 1759 in Hanbury, Worcestershire. Their child Susannah was born in 1760 in Feckenham. Susannah married Thomas Lea in 1781 in Feckenham, and they had eleven children.<\/p>\n<p>Their fifth child John Wheeley Lea was born in 1791 and was a chemist in Worcester. <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/John_Wheeley_Lea\">John Lea<\/a> was the creator of the famous <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thespruceeats.com\/worcestershire-sauce-history-1807686#the-origin-of-worcestershire-sauce\">Worcestershire Sauce<\/a> in 1835. John lived a very famous life, and an oil painting survives of him.<\/p>\n<p>Alcester is a\u00a0market town\u00a0and\u00a0civil parish\u00a0of\u00a0Roman\u00a0origin at the junction of the\u00a0River Alne\u00a0and\u00a0River Arrow\u00a0in\u00a0Warwickshire, England, approximately 8 miles (13\u00a0km) west of\u00a0Stratford-upon-Avon, and 8 miles south of\u00a0Redditch, close to the Worcestershire\u00a0border.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_6429\" style=\"width: 289px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.michelledennis.com.au\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/09\/Alcester-Warwickshire.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-6429\" class=\" wp-image-6429\" src=\"http:\/\/www.michelledennis.com.au\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/09\/Alcester-Warwickshire.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"279\" height=\"208\" srcset=\"http:\/\/www.michelledennis.com.au\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/09\/Alcester-Warwickshire.jpg 1000w, http:\/\/www.michelledennis.com.au\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/09\/Alcester-Warwickshire-300x224.jpg 300w, http:\/\/www.michelledennis.com.au\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/09\/Alcester-Warwickshire-768x572.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 279px) 100vw, 279px\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-6429\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Alcester, Warwickshire<\/p><\/div>\n<p>John died at the age of 41 years in Alcester and was buried at St Nicholas, Alcester on 9 July 1754.<\/p>\n<p>Ann Dyson died in 1776, aged 59 years, at Alcester and was buried at St Nicholas on 12 April 1776.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>John Dyson was born in 1713 in Alcester, Warwickshire, England to parents Gilbert Jew Dyson and Mary Hopkins.
