Walter Kendall<\/strong> was born around 1475 in Pelyn, the Kendall family estate near Lostwithiel, Lanlivery, Cornwall, England to parents John Kendall (of Treworgy) and Jane Holland.<\/a><\/p>\n

The\u00a0Cornwall Gardens Trust<\/a> lists Penlyn, his family home, in their records and gives some more information about the estate.\u00a0The estate was offered for sale, and you can view the\u00a0sales brochure<\/a>\u00a0here.<\/p>\n

Walter married Jane Rous, daughter of John Rous of Modbury, around 1510 in Pelyn, near Lanlivery, Cornwall.<\/p>\n

They had four known children –<\/p>\n

  1. Constance b ca 1500. Married Thomas Littleton and Richard Bryant.<\/li>\n
  2. Nicholas<\/strong> <\/a>b ca 1511 d 1583 Pelyn. Married Loveday Killiowe. 11 children.<\/li>\n
  3. Lawrence b ca 1513 d 1556. Married Katherine Mundy. 4 children.<\/li>\n
  4. Thomasine b ca 1517.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Katherine, wife of Lawrence Kendall was named with her husband in the will of her uncle Thomas Prior of Bodmin 1546 PCC. (Visitation of Cornwall pedigree 1620, page 259)<\/p>\n

    St Brevitas Lanlivery Cornwall<\/p><\/div>\n

    Walter died on 14 July 1547 in Pelyn, Cornwall and was buried at Lanlivery. A monument in the church written in latin reads \u201cCorpus Gualteri Kendall, quo decimo tercio die Julii, anno infra scripto moribo periit sub hoc saxo premitur. 1547″.<\/em><\/p>\n
